Terms of use
Last updated: September 20, 2026
1. What this service is
File Cabin provides free browser-based utilities. The tools run on your own device; we provide the software that your browser downloads, not a processing service.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service to:
- process files you do not have the right to use;
- infringe copyright, trademarks or other rights;
- break any law that applies to you;
- attempt to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the site in a way that harms other users.
You are responsible for the files you choose and for how you use the results.
3. No account, no storage
There is nothing to sign up for and nothing stored on our side. Because your files remain on your device, keeping your own backups is up to you — always work from a copy if the original matters.
4. Availability
The tools are provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. We may change, suspend or remove any tool at any time without notice.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits or business interruption arising from your use of the service. Since processing happens on your device, you should verify results before relying on them.
6. Intellectual property
You keep all rights to the files you process. We claim no rights over your content; we never receive it.
7. Third-party components
The site may include open-source software. Where an open-source licence requires attribution, that attribution is honoured in the relevant component.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms. The "last updated" date above will change when they do.
